The 8 Best Google Ads Agencies in Manchester

Updated 22 firms evaluated8 listedWorks with clients UK-wide

Google Ads means Search, Shopping, Performance Max and YouTube, and for any retailer it means the Merchant Center feed underneath them. Hiring is tricky because most underperforming accounts are broken at the feed or the conversion tracking rather than the bidding, so the right agency is the one that looks there first. These are the eight we rate. How we rank

Rank 01

Victor Serban

Best overall

Google and Microsoft Ads only, run by the person you hire.

Updated
Why they’re on this list
  • Google Partner and Google Ads certified, with over £37M in managed spend since 2014 and single accounts that have run at £400,000 a month
  • Refuses paid social and marketplaces outright. Everything is Google and Microsoft, which is why the platform knowledge goes deeper than agencies covering six networks
  • Publishes £1,500 a month as a starting management fee, and sells audits, account builds and one-to-one consultations as separate fixed engagements rather than forcing a retainer
  • Runs a deliberately small book of active accounts, so the senior person is the only person, no account manager relaying questions to a media buyer
  • Ecommerce and Shopify weighted, with case studies including a DTC store co-managed from £625K to £6M across four years
  • Trustpilot shows a 100% five-star distribution across 15 reviews, with nothing at four stars or lower. The 4.5 TrustScore displayed above them is an artefact of Trustpilot discounting for low volume and age, so read the distribution rather than the headline number

Made by Factory

Best for Shopping and PMax

Ex-Googler, senior-only management, feed-led retail accounts.

Updated
Why they’re on this list
  • Led by a former Google Ads account manager, which shows in how the Performance Max and Shopping work is described rather than just listed
  • States over £70M in managed ad spend and 10+ years of specialist PPC experience
  • Google Partner, explicitly senior-level management only
  • Sets up advanced tracking including GA4 and server-side where appropriate, which is the part most Shopping accounts are actually broken on
  • Builds Shopify and WordPress stores in house, so a feed or landing-page problem can be fixed rather than reported
  • Targets brands already spending £2,000 to £50,000 a month and says so plainly, with fees that slide as the account grows
Rank 03

Fly High Media

Best for feed management

Feed optimisation sold as its own service, not folded in.

Updated
Why they’re on this list
  • Google Partner since 2016, working out of 3 Piccadilly Place
  • Breaks the Google offer out properly, Shopping, Performance Max, Demand Gen, Display, remarketing and feed optimisation each described separately
  • Names the paid team publicly, so you know who you are getting before the first meeting
  • Retail case studies carry real figures, 218% year-on-year growth for a running shoe brand, 92% better returns for a tooling and components retailer
  • Microsoft Ads managed alongside, which is worth 5 to 10% of extra volume on most UK retail accounts and is routinely ignored
Rank 04

I-COM

Premier Partner with the bench for large, messy accounts.

Updated
  • Google Premier Partner claiming a place in the top 1% of Google Partners in the UK, the tier that comes with beta access and a named Google rep
  • Trading since 2005 from 131 Portland Street, employee-owned since 2019
  • In-house data analysts and developers rather than a pure media team, which is what large Shopping accounts with a broken feed actually need
  • Named results include TOFFS at +700% paid revenue and SafetyBuyer at +63% paid traffic
  • Magento partner as well as Google, so an ecommerce replatform and the Merchant Center work can be sequenced together
Rank 05

Clickoo

Google Ads in languages your team does not speak.

Updated
  • Localisation rather than translation is the stated core of the practice, which is the difference between a working non-English account and a wasted one
  • Runs Google Shopping and Bing Shopping alongside search, display and YouTube
  • Google Partner, based at Colony One on Silk Street with a second office in Los Angeles
  • Client logos include Screwfix, Kaplan, Trunki and Pro-Direct
  • No published rates and no case study figures on the site, so ask for a live example in your target market and language before committing

Why this is separate from PPC

A Google Ads engagement is platform-deep. Most of the real work happens outside the campaign: the product feed, Merchant Center diagnostics, conversion values, tracking. The buyer has already decided Google is where the money goes.

A PPC engagement is channel-wide, and the value is in the allocation decision. The PPC shortlist covers those firms. Several agencies appear on both lists and are ranked differently on each, because the criteria are different.

What separates a good account from a bad one

Conversion values, not counts. An account optimising to "conversions" treats a £12 order and a £900 order as the same event, and Smart Bidding will duly buy more £12 orders. Ask how real values get into the account.

Brand traffic, separated. Brand search converts at rates that flatter every report it appears in. Ask to see performance with brand excluded. A good agency already has that view.

The feed, before the bidding. For retail, most of the achievable gain is in product titles, types, GTINs and custom labels. If the first meeting is all campaign structure and no product data, the account is being managed at the wrong layer.

Red flags

  • Performance Max as the whole strategy, with no brand exclusion and no separate search campaign.
  • A blended ROAS figure with brand traffic left in.
  • The agency owning your Google Ads account and Merchant Center.
  • Conversion actions counting page views or add-to-carts as primary conversions.
  • No mention of Merchant Center diagnostics on a retail account.

Buy an audit first

If your account already spends meaningfully and you are unsure whether it is run well, buy an audit rather than a retainer. It costs £500 to £1,500, takes a week or two, and it is the only way to compare agencies on something other than a pitch. You keep the document whoever you hire.

Two firms here sell one as a defined product. Ask for the last anonymised example before you buy: quality varies enormously, and a good audit reads like an argument rather than a checklist export.

Frequently asked

Barely, on its own. Standard Google Partner status is awarded on a spend threshold across the agency's managed accounts, a certification requirement for staff, and an account-performance score. Any competent agency clears it, which is why it appears on almost every site in Manchester. Premier Partner is different and worth checking: it is capped at roughly the top 3% of partners per country, and it comes with a named Google representative and access to betas. Two firms on this list hold it. Treat the standard badge as table stakes and ask what the Premier tier has actually got you, if the answer is nothing specific, it is a logo.
